Military Wives is a six part, British drama series based upon the novel "A Private Affair" by Lesley Lokko.
To be transmitted at 9pm, Thursday nights on Channel 4, as typically channel 4 dramas are often shown on Thursday nights i.e This is England and The Killing.
The six protagonists will be followed individually in each one episode, a la Misfits and also the book is written int this style, each chapter being the point of view of one character. Viewers will experience life on the dreary base camps all over the world, the hardships military families face and the pressure wives feel to be the 'perfect' army wife and find their way in the hierarchal military society.
Following each character at a time will allow the viewer to see what its like to be married to a military man who is married to his job.
Get an insight into the dark side of the military when heros turn nasty and people get hurt.
With themes of feminism and social realism this gritty British drama takes you behind the scenes and into the lives of military homes.
