Stress!

The past few weeks we have all been working flat out! Getting all our work done, although I must say, even though through tiredness I have acquired a lovely sty in my eye, I have actually quite enjoyed this work, it is no where near as grimacing as previous coursework and essays have beenin A Level etc, And I'm very excited to get it all done!

Law abiding citizen

I watched the film "Law abiding citizen" with Gerard Butler and Jamie Fox last night and - wow! It's the best film i've seen for a while! I really liked it! It had an excellent, dare I say realistic; portrayal of the corrupt justice system- the fact that a judge in America would flippantly free a murderer because they didn't have enough evidence, or the fact that she jailed a man that murdered and raped a woman and killed a child for only 3 years was hard hitting. It was also one of those films where the good guy turns into the bad guy, but the audience still quite like him or understand him.
I also watched "The Box" the other day with Cameron Diaz, but that didn't quite have the same affect on me as "Law abiding citizen", it started out good, but became quite slow and far too complicated and out there, it turned rather silly if I'm honest. However, it did have a good portrayal of people and their morals and selfishness, people will do anything for money!

Well lets not lie, The Door was a pretty crap show in the end, quite disappointed by it, however it was amaazing to see the finished product, however rubbish it was, I think I annoyed everyone with my "I did that! ", "I filled those jars", "Me and Cat co-made that suit!" etc etc..I also think that the way i was shown was really weird, it was almost like we were shown a trailer for it.. I didnt feel like we really got in there with the action..

Where is the second series of Cape Wrath??

It must have been over a year ago, but does anyone remember a drama series on channel 4 called "Cape Wrath" it was such a weird, conspiracy theory show about people in witness protection, but I loved it! And at the end of the series I assumed there would be a second as it was so inconclusive yet made me want to know more! But I have not heard a thing about it since :(

Another series I loved was BBC's "Mistresses", I used to watch it every tuesday at 9pm with my mum! There was 2 seasons, and I know the last one was exactly a year ago in march but again I have heard nothing to say there is a 3rd :( :(

Atonement

This sneaky little movie! The twist was a little sad! I kinda thought that when Robbie was lying on the ground that night that he was going to die, but I forgot that thought because the story carried on! And then he did actually die that night! And the scene in Cecelia's flat with Briony, wasn't actually real, but reflecting back I'm actually glad it wasn't because it felt a little odd and fake to the story, there was no big reunion between Robbie and Cecelia, and the whole scene just felt a little unrealistic. All in all, it was beautifully shot, the location of the house at the beginning of the film is so beautiful, I want to get married there! And the 5 min steadicam shot, that Simon had shown us was amazing, I liked it very much :)
