So for this unit, we had to seek out work experience over the summer for the upcoming semester. I have been successful! I am going to work at a production company called Cherryduck Productions, which is based in tower bridge, London. It has its own small studios- mainly used for photoshoots rather than filming, as they aren't very large. They do lots of things, especially for online content including 'fabulous' magazine (The Sun's saturday pullout) and at the moment they are working on a series of promotional films for Westfield shopping centres.
I went down there last week to meet the staff and watch what they do, it was very interesting and exciting! They were mostly editing on macs, and they had the same problems as us- too many bodies, not enough macs! There was also a photoshoot going on in the studio, and there were models wandering around!
I even gave my own input into one of the films they were editing, which I was scared to say, as he is the professional and i am not! But he agreed with me and took it out!
I am really looking forward to working there, it will be a great experience and hopefully I will learn a lot.
